It is essential to recognise that the Pathfinder Parachute Group primarily concentrates on memorial parachute drops into Arnhem and Normandy.
Hence, the appropriate attire should represent that historical period, supporting the parachutes and aircraft to ensure the jumps are as authentic as possible.
Individuals currently serving or those who have served may also wear their country’s combat clothing to signify their status and support for the memorial events.
Our first jump students can wear overalls and Pro-Tec helmets for their initial three jumps. The subsequent two jumps will require the students to wear full combat clothing in preparation for participating in the events in Arnhem and Normandy.
Rubber soled boots or dark coloured training shows, with ankle support can be worn for jumping.
Rank and wings can be displayed for those who have been awarded them during their military service.
Nonetheless, rank does not play a role in our training courses or events and, therefore, may not be utilised.
The topic of camera equipment is significant, as all jumpers wish to document their jumps and events. Consequently, we will provide guidelines to manage any requests for using cameras, as we aim to maintain the historic appearance of our activities.
The primary rule stipulates that camera equipment must not be visible on the uniform or parachute gear, and it must not pose a hazard during jumps to eliminate any risk of snagging etc.
Examples of approved camera equipment for use will be provided shortly.
Students enrolled in their first jump course will not be permitted to jump with camera equipment.
Photos of clothing examples will follow shortly.
