Meet The Team

The Pathfinder Parachute Group consists of  Veterans, Airborne Enthusiasts, and individuals committed to supporting our mission to preserve the legacy of  the events in Arnhem and Normandy.

We have a dedicated core team who are responsible for administration, organising training courses, and qualifying candidates for club membership.

Additionally, we are supported by many volunteers whose contributions have been integral to our success over the past 32 years.

Our existence today is largely due to the unwavering commitment of our club members, who continuously support the Pathfinder Parachute Group, by dedicating their time and attending events with increasing costs paid by the membership.

This page will develop gradually as I require time to gather photographs and testimonials from individuals who have supported Pathfinder Parachute Group over the years.

Additionally, we are welcoming several new supporters who will play a crucial role in our progress towards 2026.

Hey there! I’m Roy Mobsby.

I’ve had the joy of being the grandfather of the Pathfinder Parachute Group for an amazing 32 years, organising all courses and events.

While I’ve decided it’s time to retire, I’m excited to stay involved with Pathfinders as an advisor and DZ Controller when required.

If you’re curious about my journey over the past 32 years, feel free to ask! I love to share my stories from the time I joined the 1st Battalion the parachute regiment and beyond.

Hey there! I’m Ian Marshall.

I’ve been part of  the Pathfinders family from the very start, serving as the chief instructor and jumpmaster.

My journey began with the British Army’s parachute regiment, where I had the thrill of being on “The Red Devils Freefall Team.” Later, I became a British Parachute Association Instructor and director.

I’m passionate about sharing my experience and knowledge in parachuting, whether it’s in a civilian or military setting!

I joined the Parachute Regiment back in 1970 and I’m still alive to tell the stories.

Introducing John Todd.

John serves as the club’s quartermaster, overseeing all parachute equipment.

He has dedicated 13 years of service in various roles.

He holds British Parachute Wings as well as Dutch B Wings.

John has participated in numerous anniversary events, exemplifying teamwork and dedication to the Pathfinder Parachute Group as one of our principal team leaders.

In addition, he has contributed to training initiatives for new recruits, sharing his expertise while promoting a culture of safety and precision.

Meet Allan Hewitt!

Allan joined the parachute regiment in 1982. He became a part of the Red Devils Freefall Display Team, as a parachute instructor and rigger.

After 8 exciting years at GQ Parachutes as a project engineer, Allan decided to follow his passion and started his own skydiving business. This journey eventually led him into the thrilling world of TV and Film as a Skydiving Coordinator.

Since the 60th anniversary of Arnhem, Allan has proudly served as a Pathfinder instructor and jumpmaster, whenever his job allowed him to join us.

Allan has now taken over  the role as director of the Pathfinder Parachute Group from Roy Mosby.

Meet Herve Steimer

Herve served as a Sergeant in the 57th R.A French Artillery Regiment.

Herve holds Dutch and Portuguese wings and became a member of Pathfinder in 2003.

He has completed over 300 parachute jumps, participating in many comparative events and attending many progression events to enhance his expertise.

Herve is also certified as a parachute rigger enabling him to assist pathfinders with inspections and reserve repacks, ensuring that all team members have reliable backup plans.
